ABOUT SCF
Introduction:
The Saudi Cancer Foundation (SCF) was established on 30 Muharram 1425H upon the approval of His Royal Highness, the Governor of Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Fahad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. It is a non-profit organization based in Al-Khobar city, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The SCF is dedicated to help cancer patients, provide them with the knowledge, and support services needed such as counseling support to families and individuals suffering and dealing with cancer.
Since its inception, the SCF has raised public awareness in the Eastern Region through education and information by holding periodic symposiums and inviting qualified people in the medical field to speak and share their knowledge about cancer prevention, early detection and early diagnosis.
The SCF is therefore thankful for the ongoing support and commitment from various sectors and certain individuals without which this organization will not succeed. Their continued support will no doubt lead SCF towards a positive quality of life for those living with cancer and certainly better community awareness and involvement.
This foundation has founds its way due to the hard work of its volunteers and donors
Short Term Objectives (Achieved):
. Establish a location and site for the foundation
· Making a charitable accounts in the national banks
· Arrangement of supportive measures to cancer patients and their families through regular
· visits and continuous communication.
· Dissemination of Information about cancer via booklets, pamphlets and other types of media
Medium Term Objectives (On going):
· Attract as many personnel as we can to support the foundation and assist it to meet its goals.
· Enhancement of the role of the family health care practitioners in the detection and management of cancer cases.
· Communication with influential people, businessmen and the members of the commercial and industrial chambers seeking their support.
· Collaboration with other government agencies to create scholarship positions in the field of oncology.
Long Term Objectives (In planning):
· Establishment of centers for:
a) Early detection of Cancer
b) Cancer Research
c) Oncology Hospital, with update clinics and equipments in the laboratories with the availability of the methods of chemotherapy, operative theatres, radiotherapy, full equipped and prepared emergency department...
